I have two distinct lives. One in the trenches of low-budget film and television, the other in professional gambling. Because of the feast-or-famine nature of show business I need a reliable income... gambling. So here you will read about both worlds. Enjoy!

Hello,

I have a comment about the listener question regarding the number of indexes to learn.

I liked Richard's answer about how rounds per hour, penetration, and bet spread are way more important.

I personally think that even some of the Sweet Sixteen indexes are overkill.

I recommend the listener to analyze the indexes he is interested in with some sort of software.

How much more EV per hour will he get? It all depends on bet size, rounds per hour, etc., but I've found that the less important Sweet Sixteen indexes, even assuming a pretty big bankroll, only add up to a few dollars per hour. For me, this is maybe $30 or $40 over the course of a weekend trip, and it is in the noise, when compared to fluctuations in hotel room costs, and similar things that I don't even think about.

I personally only do hit/stand and insurance indexes. I decided years ago to skip all the double down and split indexes. I calculated that this would reduce my EV by 10%. It was worth it to me. Your mileage may vary!
